Pamela Cox is a training professional with over 25+ years’ experience at Yale University in higher education. Her positive, straightforward approach combines practicality with creativity and compassion.  She has worked as an adjunct professor at Albertus Magnus College and has previously served as Yale University Toastmaster’s President for 2 years. Pamela has designed and delivered various training programs throughout her career.

Pamela holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Science Management from Albertus Magnus College.


Charlene grew up in south Florida. She attended the University of Florida, where she earned her Bachelor’s in Special Education and her Master’s in Early Childhood Education. Charlene has experience working as a reading aide and as a pre-k and kindergarten teacher. She is excited to be a part of New Haven Reads where she can continue to instill the joy and love of learning! In her spare time, she likes reading, baking, cooking, and being outdoors.


Christine has a Masters degree in Special Education, her Intermediate Administrator  Certification, and is Orton-Gillingham trained. She has spent 35 years collectively in the classroom and as a school administrator for students grades 1-12. She is deeply passionate about the importance of developing both literacy skills and the joy of reading in her students, and feels grateful for the opportunity to continue this work with New Haven Reads and the New Haven Tutoring Initiative. In her free time Christine loves to be outdoors, running, hiking, kayaking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.


Anne received her Masters in Elementary Ed and Sixth Year in Educational Leadership from Southern Ct State University. After years of classroom teaching, she began tutoring with NHR in 2020 and joined the staff in 2023.  Working at New Haven Reads and the New Haven Tutoring Initiative is an incredible  opportunity to support children on their reading journey. Anne also enjoys gardening, cooking, and going on adventures with family and friends.


Shannon has her Masters degree in Special Education and is Orton-Gillingham trained. She is a currently a Kindergarten through 3rd grade special education teacher. Shannon enjoys watching students gain the skills necessary to read independently. In her free time, she likes to take her dog for walks.


Jennie has a master’s degree in Special Education with a concentration in Learning Disabilities, as well as a Sixth-Year Certificate in Educational Leadership. She has spent the past 10 years working with children and students in grades K-12 in many different capacities–as a tutor, a teaching assistant, a teacher, and an administrator. She is excited to be part of the New Haven Tutoring Initiative as a Literacy Instructor and hopes to help make a positive impact within the New Haven community. Her favorite book series to reread is Harry Potter, always.
