New Haven Reads is excited to announce the new book delivery program called Book Bridge! This new book delivery program is for first and second grade teachers in Hamden, New Haven, and West Haven.

All students in a participating classroom will receive 2-3 gently used books twice a year, delivered right to your school! Teachers will also receive 2 brand new books for their classroom library with an activity for the class.

New Haven Reads is creating a more equitable community where children can achieve their dreams and lifelong success through the power of reading. And, we need your financial support to do so! Since 2001, New Haven Reads has been building a community of readers thanks to the support of key community members like you! Our program has worked with over 7,500 students and distributed 2.7 million books in just over two decades.

Our programs deliver impressive results. 98% of our students improved their literacy scores and 91% improved their reading comprehension levels in 2023-24. Our individualized reading interventions are based in the science of reading and enable and empower our students to reach their goals.
