Aedy VanHouten

Aedy VanHouten became an Intern at New Haven Reads in May of 2025. After the summer, she went on to become the Site Coordinator for New Haven Reads at Elm City Communities, and Assistant Site Director for Bristol Street on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As a senior at Southern Connecticut State University studying Art, English, and Arts Administration and Cultural Advocacy, she highly values community involvement and nonprofit work. Aside from her time at New Haven Reads, she works in her school library and is the editor for the SCSU undergraduate creative writing magazine, Folio.
Her interests include listening to Neil Young, reading rockstar autobiographies, going to the gym, junk journaling, and painting. Her favorite book is My Life in France by Julia Child and Alex Prud’homme.
