Katie relocated to New Haven from Ann Arbor, Michigan in the fall of 2025 and began tutoring at Science Park after a New Haven Reads presentation by fellow board member, Kathryn Van Sickle.
Katie’s career began as a middle school teacher but then pivoted to many years of board service for non profit organizations. Katie currently chairs the board of the Smith Island Land Trust on Bald Head Island, North Carolina and is a board member of the Bald Head Island Conservancy. She is active as a class agent and leadership chair at her Alma mater, Williams College where she is also a founding member of a women’s leadership philanthropic initiative. Her past board service includes President of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio, Columbus School for Girls and the Kennedy Center National Committee for the Performing Arts. Katie is a proud volunteer puppy raiser for Canine Companions and a turtle nest monitor on Bald Head Island, N.C.
