Julie comes to New Haven Reads with a B.A. from the University of Chicago and a Masters in Special Education from CUNY Hunter College. She has worked in public and private schools throughout New York City, and with programs providing educational and enrichment services to homeless students in New York City and Chicago. Julie became passionate about volunteerism while serving with AmeriCorps for two years after college, in Chicago and New Orleans. She enjoys reading whatever books her cats are not sitting on and her dog is not chewing, but especially likes non-fiction.
