Book Bank Hours: Mon-Wed 1:00-7:00 pm, Thu-Fri 1:00-6:00 pm, Sat 10:00 am-2:00 pm.
The New Haven Reads Book Bank operates like a free book store, with books available for both children and adults. All of our books are free to the public. We distribute, on average, over 130,000 books each year to the surrounding community.

How many books can I take?
Individuals may take a maximum of five children’s board or picture books per day, and an unlimited number of any other books, including children’s chapter books. Teachers and organizations may take as many books as they need.
How do I find books in the book bank?
All books at New Haven Reads are organized by category, and each category has at least one shelf in the Book Bank. Shelves are labeled on the front edge. Visitors to the back room may use the maps, printed on blue paper, to locate categories.
