Summer Literacy Camp

Through our Summer Literacy Camp for rising first and second graders, New Haven Reads helps students gain confidence and enhance their skills during the summer months, when there is a risk of academic learning loss due to the long vacation.

Taught by two certified teachers, this month-long program uses storytelling, poetry, songs, dance, and hands-on materials to expand the reading and language skills of our campers. They also go on field trips to the Peabody Museum and the Yale Art Gallery. As with the other New Haven Reads programs, the Summer Literacy Camp is free.
