Our Book Bank has very few children’s picture books and other books for younger children left at the moment. Can you help us by bringing in more children’s books or sponsoring a book drive to help us? We are excited that so many of our books have been going out into the community but we need more kids’ books so that the children who come to New Haven Reads will have some to choose from to bring home over the summer. Contact Theresa at 203-752-1923 or email@example.com for more information!
The New Haven Reads Book Bank is set up like a book store and contains books for both adults and children. All of our books are free. Books are arranged by topic. Adult books include fiction and non-fiction on topics ranging from political science to self-help. Our children’s section has books for all ages. We have board books for little hands and chapter books for more advanced readers.
Individuals may take an unlimited number of adult books and a maximum of five children’s books a day. Teachers and organizations may take as many books as they need. We distribute, on average, over 100,000 books every year and in 2011 the Book Bank distributed over 111,000 books.
All our books are donated by individual or community groups. We take any books in good to excellent condition, but we do not take any encyclopedias, or magazines. We are always in need of children’s picture books. To donate books please bring your books to the Book Bank during our open hours.
