Volunteer Spotlight: Travis Crocker

Welcome to our new Volunteer Spotlight series! Each month, New Haven Reads will highlight one of our spectacular volunteers. Read on to learn more about one of our book bank volunteers, Travis Crocker.

There are many ways to volunteer at New Haven Reads, and volunteering in the book bank is one of them. Volunteers are busy in the early afternoon hours sorting books and shelving donations. If you were to stop by the book bank at 45 Bristol St, you might find Travis among the bookshelves or helping someone bring in a donation of books. When Travis isn’t volunteering here he enjoys hanging with family and friends.

When did you begin volunteering at New Haven Reads?

September 2011-so almost a full year now.

What made you want to be involved?

This was a great way to keep busy and I get to help kids and the community.

What is your favorite thing about volunteering at New Haven Reads?

That I am helping kids and the staff here.

What is your favorite book bank memory?

Nothing in particular sticks out, but I do find a lot of interesting books!

Thank you to Travis and all of our wonderful volunteers!
